Success Stories

Adam and Arthur came to OAR in the spring of 2011 with their two sisters. Though their two sisters got adopted quickly, Adam and Arthur stuck around. They were volunteer favorites for their spunky, playful attitudes – when you opened their playpen door they would pop out at you to be held, or to get the opportunity to race around chasing a toy mouse. But volunteers despaired as the boys got bigger and bigger, and nobody seemed to want to take them home. And the boys had a strike against them: they were both all black cats, which tend to be the last cats chosen! It seemed these kittens would grow into adulthood at OAR.

But then, in November, the perfect family came along for Adam and Arthur. The family had had two black cat brothers for twenty years that they had recently lost – and they were looking for another pair! It was the perfect match. Adam and Arthur, after months of waiting for the right home, went to just the right family, and they got to go home together.
