Funding for OAR's building project is being supported by grants totalling $1,639,000 from the Joanie Bernard Foundation. This money will be used to build the Joanie Bernard Home for Cats, which will house the shelter portion of OAR. Joanie, who died days after the first gift was made, cared deeply about the welfare of the cats of Cincinnati, and we're honored that she and her foundation board chose OAR to receive such generous grants.

OAR’s board has chosen Oregon Group Architects of Dayton, Ohio, to design the shelter, which will be built on our property at 5619 Orlando Place in Madisonville. The company also will plan remodeling of our current building to expand the clinic and TNR resource center.  The Oregon Group has designed several animal-care facilities, including the Animal Adoption Foundation site in Ross Township near Hamilton.  The Greater Dayton Construction Group will serve as general contractor for the adoption center project.
