If your heart is set on a specific cat or kitten, please know that: 1) Some cats listed for adoption are currently in foster homes or at the Oakley Petsmart. We will gladly work with you to adopt them directly from their current location. You may check with us to confirm a cat’s location. 2) We cannot reserve or hold a cat until you have met them in person. We do not place kittens on hold for any reason.

Location

OAR's Adoption Center is located at 5619 Orlando Place, 45227 in the Joanie Bernard Home for Cats. We are easily accessible from exit 9 on I-71.

Instructions

Consistent with CDC recommendations, masks are optional but may be warn to help protect each other, staff, and volunteers.

Bring a carrier with you. For safety reasons, we only send home cats who are in secure carriers. We have $10 cardboard carriers available for your convenience, though we recommend investing in a hard-sided carrier if possible.

Adoption Process

We want your adoption experience to be as fun and easy as possible, but we take our responsibility as your experts on cat care and behavior seriously. After you have met your match, it could take up to 15 minutes to sign their adoption contract, review their medical history, and discuss their behavioral needs.

We will give you a sample bag of Hill’s Science Diet cat or kitten food. While we think Hill’s is a nutritious and reasonably priced food, you are not required to continue feeding them this specific food. The bag provides guidelines for changing to a diet of your choice over a 7 day period.

Adopt a Barn Cat

If you're not looking for a traditional pet cat to live inside your house, OAR's Barn Cats Program might be just for you. The Barn Cats Program places unsocialized (or feral) community cats into non-traditional forever homes such as barns, workshops, nurseries, warehouses, junkyards, and breweries. Working cats don't want to curl up on laps or be petted, but in exchange for daily meals and shelter from wildlife and the elements, these cats will provide environmentally friendly rodent control for your property. For more information on how you can adopt one of these special animals, visit our Barn Cats page!
